After easing their relegation concerns before the international break, Nottingham Forest are now targeting a move to sign a Premier League midfielder following a recent agreement.
Nottingham Forest targeting ex-PL star
With seven games left to play, Nottingham Forest are three points clear of the dropzone and on a run of three games without defeat in the Premier League.
The introduction of Vitor Pereira is quickly proving to be an act of genius and the former Wolves boss now has the chance to finish the job in the next month or so.

It’s not the most routine run for the Tricky Trees, who will be well aware of the boost that Roberto De Zerbi will provide rivals Tottenham Hotspur and the narrative that could form if Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham side drag them down.
With Aston Villa up next in the Premier League, though, they at least have the chance to make a well-timed statement by defeating their Midlands rivals.
Of course, it’s also worth noting that the quicker Forest secure survival, the sooner those at the City Ground can turn towards any potential reinforcements this summer.

The Tricky Trees could have an opportunity.
To that end, a number of names are already threatening to steal the headlines. The likes of Mathias Olivera and Lloyd Kelly have both been mentioned as potential targets, with the latter bringing Premier League experience.
The defender has been a man transformed at Juventus and could be on his way back to English football as a result. But he’s not the only Englishman that Forest have set their sights on this summer.
Nottingham Forest plotting James Garner move
According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Nottingham Forest are now targeting James Garner despite the fact that he recently reached an agreement with Everton over a new contract.
Brown told Football Insider: “Interest in Garner certainly hasn’t gone away. Nottingham Forest have been looking at him for a while and they’ve decided he’s got the attributes and quality they want to add to their team.
“They will have watched him closely when he played for England, and by all accounts, he was very impressive in that game and did well for himself.
“He obviously signed a new contract at Everton not long ago, so it will take a lot to get him out, so it depends on what Forest are willing to spend.
“But it was mainly to stop him leaving on a free transfer to somebody like Forest, and to make sure that if he is going to go, they get a fee for him.”

Nottingham Forest have hit the jackpot on one star who’s thrived at the City Ground.
Dubbed “fantastic” by Everton boss David Moyes earlier this season, Garner recently made a much-deserved England debut and could yet find himself in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. With that in mind, he’d be a statement signing by Forest.
