Rangers confirmed the departure of Rabbi Matondo this week, and now also look set to lose one of their brightest young talents, with multiple Premier League clubs sniffing around for his signature.
Rangers confirm Matondo departure
Rangers have confirmed Matondo has joined Norwegian side SK Brann in a permanent transfer.
The Wales international has played just three times this season, all of them as a substitute. His final appearance came in an 8-0 win over Queen’s Park in February.
The 25-year-old former Manchester City youth player arrived at Ibrox from Schalke in July 2022 and scored eight goals in 70 appearances, most of which were off the bench.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with Hannover in Bundesliga 2 and missed the first half of the current campaign with a knee injury, but was included in the Wales squad for this month’s World Cup play-offs.
A brief statement from the Ibrox club read: “Everyone at Rangers wishes Rabbi the best of luck in his future endeavours.”
Rangers are expected to undergo somewhat of an overhaul this summer to shape the squad in Danny Rohl’s image, with defensive reinforcements first up on the agenda.

Rangers are reportedly interested in a deal to sign a star who could be their next Emmanuel Fernandez.
They are also seeking to get the youth ranks in order, with 15 year-old left-back Ashton Scally set to sign a professional contract once he turns 16 this month.
As always however, Scottish football is a raiding ground for Premier League clubs seeking to improve their own academies, and it’s not all good news at Auchenhowie.
Rangers set to lose winger Lewis Stewart
According to The Daily Record, Rangers winger Lewis Stewart, who is thriving on loan at Alloa this season, looks likely to join a ‘major’ club this summer.
Indeed, scouts from big clubs across Scotland and England have watched the 18 year-old on mulitple occasions, and the youngster is currently not signing a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
Stewart has spent time with Rangers B and under-19 teams and has also trained with the senior side, but is now on course to leave Ibrox for nothing, having scored three times and provided five assists at Recreation Park this term.
The Gers do have a clause in his loan deal to recall him from Alloa at any time, but that is extremely unlikely with the forward looking towards the exit door.
