After a few days with Tottenham, sources are already linking the Italian manager to his former players.
According to talkSPORT, Spurs are considering a move to sign The Seagulls’ goalkeeper. It is said he could replace current Tottenham keeper Vicario for the top spot.
Bart joined Albion in July 2023, on a five-year deal.
He arrived after winning the 2022/23 Player of the Season award for Belgian side Anderlecht.
The 23-year-old has impressed so far with Brighton, but has suffered a few shaky moments this season.
De Zerbi, who officially joined Spurs on Tuesday, March 31, has reportedly given Spurs the green light to sign him.
The Italian head coach is also a ‘big fan’ of his former keeper.
Sources suggest that the goalkeeper is valued at £50 million.
However, Spurs will only look at Bart if they secure survival from the drop, reports say.
Back in 2024 when Roberto managed Albion, Verbruggen had high words for his coach.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Bart Verbruggen said: ” From the moment I arrived I have felt his faith and trust.
“What I really appreciate about him (De Zerbi) is that he always supports me, even in moments when I’m not so good.
“No matter if I play a good game or a bad game, he gives me his trust.
“But then he is also always demanding more from me, and he is consistent with that.
“I think that is something I thrive off and get better from
“It is a privilege to work with him.”
