[Keegan] There is a growing confidence that Jack Grealish will extend his stay at Everton. Talks are ongoing with City over another loan switch or a permanent deal + the message from David Moyes all season has been that Europe should be the target.

Another loan would be fantastic unless we can get him permanently for a lot cheaper than 50mil.
You have to assume that they know they won’t get 50mil, and his wages off the books is a net positive for them.
Don’t mind a loan deal really & suits all parties. City would prefer a purchase but they’re aware they won’t get asking price. Jack can stay on his wages rather than signing for us and ultimately having to drop wages, plus he gets complete freedom when his contract is up next summer.
It wouldn’t be the worst thing to sign him permanent, but he is 31 this year. Not saying that’s past it by any means but need to factor that in with a 3-4 year contract.
A loan just gives us a lot of flexible with money and direction moving forward. Would be a massive help to us if we can have him next season whether we get Europe or not.
I would love for Grealish to stay, I just hope we don’t sell Ndiaye to make up for the lost money if it ends up being a permanent
Been saying for a while that it’s painfully obvious that Grealish will either be on loan next season or signed for about 15 million. The 50 mill figure was purely for accounting purposes. Look at Sterling, Phillips etc. big clubs cannot shift these contractual anchors and there’s no incentive for us to play ball on a big fee. If city had to settle for a loan last year, they’re certainly going to have to this year when he’s a year older and coming off a broken foot
