Official figures released by the Football Association today show that the Blues shelled out way more than any other Championship club over the period, with Southampton next on the list at £8.4m followed by Leicester at £5.9m.

Indeed, Ipswich’s outlay represents 17% of the entire division’s combined spend of £69.7m on agents’ fees.

It’s a massive increase on the £6.3m that the club paid to agents during their 2024/25 season in the Premier League.

And it’s more than four current top flight clubs paid to player representatives over the same period – Fulham, Sunderland, Everton and Burnley.

Ipswich signed 13 players over the last two transfer windows and handed new contracts to five first-teamers in Dara O’Shea, George Hirst, Elkan Baggott, Jack Taylor, Leif Davis and Christian Walton.

Town are shown to have paid two different agents when it comes to the loan signings of Jens Cajuste (Napoli) and Chuba Akpom (Ajax), while they also paid agent fees when it came to the sales of Omari Hutchinson (Nottingham Forest) and Nathan Broadhead (Wrexham).

The news comes hours after Ipswich filed their accounts for the 2024/25 period, revealing how much their Premier League signings cost.

Town’s 13 signings since Feb 4, 2025: David Button (Reading, free), Azor Matuswia (Rennes, £7.8m), Cedric Kipre (Reims, loan) Ashley Young (Everton, free), Jens Cajuste (Napoli, loan), Chubs Akpom (Ajax, loan), Kasey McAteer (Leicester, £11.5m), Darnell Furlong (West Brom, £3.5m), Ivan Azon (Como, loan), Marcelino Nunez (Norwich, £7.5m), Sindre Walle Egeli (£17.5m, Nordsjaelland), Anis Mehmeti (£3.5m, Bristol City), Dan Neil (Sunderland, loan).
