Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana has talked up Belgium teammate Senne Lammens after the Manchester United summer signing’s impact at Old Trafford.
Senne Lammens has linked up with Amadou Onana during the March break after the Manchester United ace and Aston Villa star were respectively called up by Belgium.
Both Onana and Lammens started for Belgium in their country’s 5-2 win over the United States at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta last Saturday.
Lammens managed to climb into the Belgium national team in 2025 and has been challenging Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois for the No 1 role.

Senne Lammens’ senior debut for his country came last November after he kept a clean sheet in Belgium’s 7-0 thumping of Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier.
The 23-year-old’s emergence in the Belgium national team in 2025 has come alongside Lammens securing his place as the Manchester United No 1 at the club.
Lammens was a deadline-day signing for the Red Devils last September after the Belgium international left his native homeland and made the move to England.
Man Utd paid an initial £18.1m transfer fee to Royal Antwerp for Lammens and Amadou Onana was full of high praise for his Belgium teammate’s development.
“For Senne, the sky is the limit,” Onana told The Athletic.
The 24-year-old Belgium and Aston Villa midfielder added: “He has every possible attribute to be one of the best ’keepers of the future.
“His future is very bright. I think it depends on him, really.”

Lammens succeeded Andre Onana between the sticks at Man Utd and the former Royal Antwerp ace has firmly established himself as the Red Devils’ No 1 pick.
Speaking ahead of Belgium’s encounter with Mexico on Wednesday, Villa ace Onana insisted that Lammens’ ‘calmness’ has allowed him to excel as a ‘keeper so quickly.
“His best quality is his calmness,” he explained.
“He just inspires you as a player, because seeing him on the ball, how calm and quiet he is, composed, that helps the defence, helps the midfield, and helps the team.
“I’m very glad we have him. I’ve obviously been following his games at United. He’s doing brilliantly well, especially after he had people doubting him when he came in. I am very pleased for him.”
Lammens has made 26 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at United and the Belgium star has five clean sheets to his name so far.
