University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) annual 5km and 10km races took place on Saturday, March 28.

UHD figures show 1,585 people were referred to the trust’s prostate cancer teams in 2025, and 30 per cent of these patients were diagnosed with cancer.

The March for Men event brings people together to walk or run, solo or with friends, to fundraise for new state-of-the-art equipment, meaningful projects and extras to support those affected by prostate cancer in the community.

Aurelia Chliwna, fundraiser for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, said: “March for Men this weekend was nothing short of inspiring.

“Seeing so many people step forward to raise life-changing funds and create brighter futures for prostate cancer patients at University Hospitals Dorset filled me with such hope.

“I’m also deeply grateful to our March for Men sponsors, Spetisbury Construction Ltd and Oak Business Services, for standing proudly alongside us.

“We are currently adding up every contribution from March for Men.

“We are excited to reveal the full figure in the coming weeks once everything is confirmed.

“Thank you to everyone for making this year’s March for Men such a brilliant day!”
