A 10-knot speed limit will take effect as of 00.01am on Wednesday, April 1st across the waters of Pool Harbour and up to 1,400 metres out to sea from South Haven Point.
In addition to this, Wareham, North and Middle Ship Channels up to the Bell Buoy will be also withdrawn as usual at 00.01hrs on Wednesday, 1 April.

The new 10-knot speed limit excludes areas where a 6-knot speed limit applies throughout the year. This includes Little Channel, Backwater Channel and Holes Bay and other designated quiet zones.
In a statement from Poole Harbour, Harbour Master Harry Gregory, reminded mariners of byelaw 2(a):
“Within the limits of Poole Harbour, every vessel shall be navigated with care and caution and at such speed and in such manner as not to endanger the lives of or cause injury or be a nuisance to persons or endanger the safety of or cause damage to other vessels, moorings, buoys, beacons or other property”.
Mr Gregory added: “Owners, agents, charterers, marinas, yacht clubs and recreational water sport organisations should ensure that the contents of this Notice are made known to the masters or persons in charge of their vessels or craft.”
This notice replaces the previous LNTM 50 of 2025.
