Manchester United have shown concrete interest in signing Sandro Tonali but Newcastle have just strengthened their financial position considerably.
Sandro Tonali is open to joining Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window, but Ineos may struggle to table a fee big enough to tempt Newcastle United.
Earlier this month, manager Eddie Howe said Newcastle had PSR issues, and that suggested that they may be forced into some high-profile sales this summer.
United have been linked to Tonali as well as his Newcastle teammates Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Hall.

United looked in a strong position to raid Newcastle for some of their star players given that Michael Carrick has put the Red Devils on track for Champions League qualification.
But as per The Telegraph, financial accounts reveal that Newcastle have sold their stadium – St James’ Park – to themselves in a method to loophole the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.
The report adds that the stadium sale ensured that Newcastle were not guilty of a PSR breach. The Premier League officially cleared it as a fair market value deal.
St James’ Park was sold to another company, PZNH, controlled by the club, for £171.2m.

It seems Newcastle’s loophole has relieved their financial pressure, meaning they are in no rush to sell their best players this summer.
According to the Telegraph report above, the Magpies will demand a fee in excess of £100 million for Tonali because he has a contract valid until 2030.

Casemiro has recommended Guimaraes as a United signing, and his contract only runs until 2028 so a smaller fee may be required for the 28-year-old Brazilian.
As per ShieldsGazette, Hall is likely to cost around £80 million as one of Newcastle’s brightest young prospects.
