Firstly, Bukayo Saka withdrew from the England squad over the weekend alongside Declan Rice as the pair returned to North London for medical assessment.
The pair are set to be ready to face Southampton alongside William Saliba who pulled out the France squad, Martin Odegaard who returns from a knee injury, Jurrien Timber returning from an ankle injury and Leandro Trossard who pulled out the Belgium squad.
Mikel Merino is still recovering from foot injury and has an unknown return date along with teammates Eberechi Eze (calf injury), Piero Hincape (unspecified injury)and Martin Zubimendi who pulled out the Spain side “discomfort in his right knee”.
Finally, the Brazilian Football Confederation announced that Gabriel would not join up with the side for their friendlies against France and Croatia, revealing that had picked up a knee issue.
“Imaging scans confirmed that Gabriel Magalhaes is not fit for the matches in this FIFA international window. No other player will be called up to replace him,” the body confirmed.
Arsenal faces a grueling schedule ahead including clashes against Southampton, Sporting and Manchester City where manager Mikel Arteta will hope to see many of his players return in what is a bare-bones squad at the moment.
