Bukayo Saka is well on his way to becoming an Arsenal legend in his own right but that doesn’t mean he can’t take on board advice along the way.

Saka’s stature at the club is already secured and it would be a major surprise if we ever saw the winger move on elsewhere.

Over his time at the club, Saka has worked under different managers, played with different players, and had differing experiences. However, one former player seems to have remained a constant in his career.

There will come a time when Bukayo Saka might be in the position of passing his own advice on and in fairness, he’s probably doing that now with players like Max Dowman.

However, when it comes to the main man for sharing their experience, Saka has said it’s all about Thierry Henry in his eyes.

“I’d say Thierry Henry. He’s given me some great advice,” Saka admitted.

“There’s so much to learn from him and he’s done a lot of things I’d love to achieve in the game and at Arsenal as well.”

What Thierry Henry said to Bukayo Saka after his penalty miss for England in Euro 2020

Relationships like the one Henry and Saka have are often built over time and with plenty of love in amongst it.

Henry has always been a fan of Saka as a player but as people, they are also there for each other.

Indeed, Henry showed his class back at the Euros in 2020, when Saka painfully missed the crucial penalty that allowed Italy to be crowned champions.

Nevertheless, Henry had his man’s back.

“I know Bukayo, so I dropped him a line to tell him that actually for me, you are going to present yourself to take that penalty, you are a hero,” Henry said at the time.

“I didn’t [care] actually, him scoring or not scoring. Even the courage to go in there, to go and take the penalty at his age, for me he’s a hero.”

Clearly, Saka has clung onto Henry’s mentorship over time and has reaped the rewards it seems.

The pair never played together. But for Arsenal fans, the idea of an Henry and Saka link-up is the stuff of dreams.
