Manchester United youngster Amir Ibragimov appears to be closing in on a return to action.

Amid impressive performances from Manchester United’s under-18s teams in 2026, one player’s absence has been noticeable.

Amir Ibragimov, 18, has not played since November 2025 due to injury.

At the weekend he dropped a hint on Instagram over his possible comeback, writing: “Go time soon! @manutd”.

Amir Ibragimov started the season in superb form, scoring three goals in his opening three league games for the 18s.

Ibragimov was named under-18s captain, representing the club in the league and in the EFL Trophy.

He scored four goals and provided two assists before injury curtailed his season, with his most recent appearance coming on November 8.

He did make the bench for two subsequent fixtures but United did not risk his fitness. It was later revealed he had a broken foot.

Ibragimov also has one appearance for the under-21s under his belt this season, scoring in a 2-1 win over rivals City early in the campaign.

While there is no date set for his return, his hint offers hope that he could get back onto the pitch to help his team out at a crucial stage.

Amir Ibragimov can give United’s under-18s a boost after Kai Rooney’s season ending injury.

There is a lot at stake, with United competing for the title. Darren Fletcher’s side are currently level on points with City at the top.

United are also into the FA Youth Cup semi-finals and the Premier League Cup Final, set to face Crystal Palace in both matches.

There is clear motivation for Ibragimov to want to get back as quickly as possible.
