Sandro Tonali’s future at Newcastle United will become clear over the next few weeks amid interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City.

While nothing is guaranteed, it feels like Tonali’s time at Newcastle United is coming to an end

That does not mean that Newcastle will sell Tonali cheaply or that he will push for a move like Alexander Isak did.

I know it sounds like sour grapes, but I’d take the money and run 😡

However, all signs are certainly pointing towards Tonali leaving Newcastle

The next few weeks could yet prove decisive.

Journalist claims that Tonali’s future is to be decided imminently

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Tonali is at the top of Manchester United’s wish list.

That isn’t much of a surprise, though they will no doubt be hoping to sign the player we saw last season than the one that supporters have seen struggle this time around.

The journalist claims that all will become clear over the next weeks, and that Manchester City are also keeping an eye on the situation.

Do you think PIF have lost interest in Newcastle United? 🤔

It is difficult, however, to know exactly what needs to become clear. Newcastle will no doubt have a price tag and it’s safe to assume that a team as rich as Manchester United – particularly if they qualify for the Champions League – would be able to afford it.

This really does not need to be as dramatic as the Isak saga.

Newcastle, after all, have surely learned lessons from that debacle. Indeed, Tonali has been saying his future is uncertain for months and it is hardly much of a surprise that he is being linked away.

It is not Newcastle’s job to make it easy for either of the Manchester clubs, but they also need to make life easier for themselves.

Unless they are 100% going to keep Tonali, it’s better to try and strike an agreement early on in the window so that they can plan for the rest of the summer accordingly.
