Once upon a time Southampton had an ice rink, of which I am unfortunately old enough to remember.
However, my point is that we were told by the council when they demolished the ice rink that we would get another one in a different location.
This was when my son, who was born in 1993, which is now some 33 years on, and we still don’t have.
We have a perfect place in the centre of town with easy rail and road links in the Toys “R” Us site. However, still no sign of one.
It feels like Southampton is happy to provide housing for students everywhere, but what about families and youngsters, from toddlers to oldies? Having a pastime and exercise away from a screen.
Please give them something to occupy their time.
