Arsenal will no doubt be active in the transfer market this summer and Owen Hargreaves has told them to look to Serie A for their next star.

The Gunners have made some fine signings over the last few windows but as football evolves, Mikel Arteta will know he needs to keep adding quality to the squad.

However, while superstar names like Sandro Tonali are being linked, former Man United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has told the Gunners to go and take Como’s best player.

FC Como are one of the big success stories in the current footballing landscape and Argentinian youngster Nico Paz is very much a driving force.

With 10 goals this season, Paz is going to go to the World Cup with Argentina and according to Owen Hargreaves, he is the one Arsenal needs to be signing.

“Do you know what. There’s a young lad who plays for Como. Nico Paz,” Hargreaves commented for TNT Sports.

“Honestly, if I’m Arsenal, the joy they had getting Odegaard from Real Madrid, this kid, you’ll see him at the World Cup, he’s a 10, he’s going to be a star, if you don’t ask you don’t get, a player like that would suit Arsenal.”

What Cesc Fabregas has said about Nico Paz

There’ll be excitement among Arsenal fans about any player coming from FC Como, given they are being expertly managed by former Gunner, Cesc Fabregas.

Indeed, Fabregas is a big fan of the youngster. So much so, he has compared Paz’s situation to the one he had at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.

“He came an hour before the match to my office with Henry. I thank him because at 16 he believed in me, just as I believe in Nico Paz, who is a champion,” Fabregas has said.

“I am very confident about his future because I can tell when a player has the mindset to become a top player. If he continues like this, he can go wherever he wants.”

Paz is believed to have an option in his contract that would see Real Madrid get first dibs on him if he does move on.

However, as we saw with Odegaard, Madrid often get it wrong and this might be an opportunity that Arsenal cannot miss.
