If Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are worth around £35 and £55 million respectively, what is the size of the price-tag West Ham United should slap on Crysencio Summerville this summer?

This is a question the bosses at the London Stadium will no doubt be mulling over amid interest from a whole host of clubs both in England and abroad.

It was also a question we at Hammers News put to our TalkingPoint users on the day that Steven Gerrard recommended Summerville to a Mo Salah-less Liverpool.

When was the last time a West Ham player excited you so much?! 😍

The West Ham United winger has frequently been linked with the reigning, soon-to-be deposed Premier League champions.

Serie A giants Napoli are reportedly interested, too while Fabrizio Romano is predicting a hectic summer of speculation surrounding a much-admired, vastly-improved, suddenly free-scoring Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham United fans want Crysencio Summerville to stay – unsurprisingly

On our official Facebook page, some fans were keen to draw a comparison between Summerville and Kudus.

“[Summerville is worth] definitely more than Kudus,” one supporter wrote. “I would sell him for, like, £80 million.”

“If Kudus is the standard then Summerville is £65 million. He is every bit £10 million more than him.”

Kudus had three years left on his Hammers contract when that £54.5 million Tottenham bid was accepted in June. Summerville, too, has three years remaining.

However, the former Leeds winger is playing the best football of his career under Nuno, in stark contrast to the Ghanaian whose second season in claret and blue was nowhere near as impressive as his first.

The message from the majority, meanwhile, is that West Ham should not even think about entertaining offers. After posing a loss of £104 million, it is no secret that West Ham will have to sell star players in the event of relegation. Survive, and the pressure will not be quite so intense.

“Nothing,” one fan wrote when asked what sort of a fee he’d demand for Summerville. “Keep him.”

“Tell [those interested clubs] to go do one.”

“£100 million!”

“Zero; he stays unless the player asks to leave. Need to be building a team around him and [Mateus] Fernandes.”

“If we stay up; ‘Not for sale’.”

“£200 million… he’s one of our best and getting better. Stay away…”

But who is your favourite to win the award in 2026?

Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad earlier this month, Summerville did not rule out leaving West Ham at some point. The likelihood is that any fee the Hammers demand will be well beyond the financial capabilities of Napoli and Roma, though.

Liverpool have much deeper pockets but Salah’s impending departure means a right-winger will be required, even if Cody Gakpo’s poor form means a left-sided attacker may also be targeted.

Arne Slot wanted Summerville at Feyenoord a couple of years ago. Of course, it remains to be seen if Slot will still be in situ come the summer following a poor title defence.

“Let’s be brutally honest here; Summerville was as average as it comes [before the turn of the year],” a more critical supporter argues. “No end product, losing possession, definitely not clinical enough in front of goal.

“But after about 10 decent games, he is suddenly worth these laughable amounts. Would any club buy him with his injury history? Certainly not for these amounts, that’s for sure.”

Another, meanwhile, doubts the club’s ability to adequately re-invest any Summerville-themed windfall.

“We could sell him but doubt we have the ability to spend that money wisely, or at all.”
