But the draining trip back from Australia might affect their participation in WSL action.

Moeka Minami and Kiko Seike were part of the Japan squad who won the tournament, which finished last weekend.

Charlie Rule was part of the Australia set-up which reached the final in Sydney.

The Japanese players returned to training on Wednesday and were given a great welcome back by colleagues.

Rule was back a day later after an arduous trip.

All three were being assessed ahead of the WSL clash with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday (3pm).

Head coach Dario Vidosic said: “The two Japanese girls had a really nice reaction and got scared a little bit with all those party poppers going off!

“That was really nice to watch from the back and see the reactions and how everyone is excited for their achievements.

“And it is a fantastic achievement, to be the champions of a continent and they played really well.”

Former Australia international Vidosic also had congratulations for Rule.

He said: “It’s her first major tournament with the national team.

“How she progressed this season after all the injuries in the past, there is still a lot there to be celebrated as well.

“The Japanese girls have come back a little bit earlier than Charlie.

“With what has gone on with the Middle East, her flights have been redirected so what was already  a very long trip became even longer having to go through America and then getting to the UK.

“We just need to see how her sleeping pattern is and how she feels.”

Albion have slipped to ninth in the WSL after their 0-0 draw at home to Liverpool.

Leicester are bottom of the table and have lost their last seven games in league and cup but Vidosic warned: “They are going to give absolutely everything.

“If we are not there, if we are not exactly the same, it can be a very difficult afternoon.”
