The Seafood & Sounds festival will return on September 12 and 13, transforming Poole Quay, Old Town and the High Street into a vibrant festival of food and entertainment.

Jeanette Walsh, an organiser of the Seafood & Sounds festival, said: “Seafood & Sounds has grown into something really special for Poole.

“What started as a celebration of our seafood and music has become a true town-wide event that brings people together and showcases the character, creativity and hospitality of the town.”

The festival will begin at 11am on the Saturday with a seafood-themed parade starting at Slug & Lettuce, then it will make its way along the High Street and through Old Town before ending in Poole Quay.

This year will host an expanded version of the event which will now stretch up the High Street to include Old Orchard, the area outside White Pepper Chef Academy and Falkland Square.

Jeanette added: “Expanding the festival further in 2026 allows us to involve more local businesses and create new experiences for visitors while celebrating Poole’s maritime heritage in a fun and inclusive way.”

The broader footprint of this year’s festival is supported by Poole BID and according to organisers, is a push to encourage greater exploration of the town centre by visitors.

Jacqui Rock, CEO of Poole BID, said: “Seafood & Sounds is a fantastic example of how events can animate the town centre, support local businesses and encourage people to explore more of Poole.”

Visitors can expect an artisan market that will be spread over multiple locations comprising independent traders, guided talks and a variety of entertainment.

Music will also feature prominently at the festival with live performances programmed across the nine locations.

Not forgetting the main theme of the festival, Seafood remains a central feature of the event, with restaurants and vendors in the area offering special dishes for the occasion.

Organisers say the festival is designed as a free, family-friendly event with children’s entertainment zones.

To help visitors move between the key festival locations, organisers said there will also be themed walking routes such as the ‘Oyster Trail’ and ‘Cockle Trail’ to help guide crowds to its various locations.
