Master the Tite Front defense! Learn its benefits against zone/gap schemes, how to adjust to spread formations, and integrate a Dime package for elite run-stopping.

In this clinic:
– Why Teams Use the Tite Front: Understand the core reasons behind deploying the Tite Front, primarily how it forces offensive linemen into difficult double-team situations, especially against inside zone and gap schemes.
– Run Fits Against Zone & Gap Schemes: Learn how the Tite Front creates specific run fits, allowing defensive ends to knife inside against pulling guards and forcing runs to bounce outside to athletic linebackers and safeties.
– Adjustments to Various Offensive Formations (2×2, 3×1): Discover how to effectively adjust the Tite Front when facing different offensive sets like 2×2 and 3×1, including how linebackers and hybrid players like the Jack position are used.
– Integrating the Dime Personnel Package: Explore how teams, particularly in the Big 12, combine the Tite Front with Dime personnel to create unique coverage structures behind the aggressive front, often using a 3-high safety look.
– Handling RPO and Power Read Concepts: See how the Tite Front neutralizes common RPO and power read plays by dictating dive and quarterback responsibilities, often creating free-hitting linebackers and controlling the edge.

  1. Great stuff! The key to the 1st clip is why the 4i is better vs zone schemes than the 3 tech. The 4i strikes the OT which keeps him from climbing and also doesn't allow the G to push and overtake. This creates free runs from the Safety and ILB. When the OL try to come off, the 4i makes the play. Also, OKST thinks that by running SS OZ, they are tricking the defense, but the alignment of the back just brings the N to the play. His default gap is the A-gap to the back.

  2. Great breakdown, Coach. From that 3 safety Tampa 2 look with Tite front, would it be better to assign that 3rd safety in the middle to the QB or Dive against the zone read on Day 1?
