The victim, who does not want to be named, said her attacker was in a ‘blackout rage’ over a minor car parking dispute.
The 30-year-old visited Toby Carvery in Castle Lane East, Bournemouth, with her mother on the afternoon of Sunday, March 8, but was turned away due to the restaurant being fully booked.
On their way back to their car, the woman said a driver ‘nearly ran her over’ and she said to her mother: “I didn’t know if she was coming or going”.
The woman told the Echo: “That was the beginning of the end – she let loose.”
The driver reportedly asked her to repeat herself before responding with verbal abuse.
After further insults were thrown, the victim and her mother noticed the female had a young child in the car and decided to walk away.
However, when returning to their vehicle the female reportedly blocked them in and prevented them from leaving.
After trying to get assistance from restaurant staff, the woman said the female “flipped” and grabbed her head by her scalp.
“She dragged my head back to her waist and was pulling my head towards her knee,” she said.
“She was kneeing my face and chin, while dragging me back and forth like a dog toy.”
The woman said a “huge wad of hair” was pulled out and her head hit a wall.
Eventually the female left and the following day the woman went to hospital with a concussion and muscle damage to her head, neck and spine.
She said she has been unable to return to work and struggled to leave the house for six days after the attack.
The woman said she moved to Bournemouth just last year for a ‘safer life’.
“The irony is I have lived in central city, rough areas of London, where you come across violent incidents, but never in my entire life have I gone out for a roast dinner with my family and been assaulted,” she said.
The woman praised the restaurant staff who were “kind and supportive” during and after the attack.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 4.23pm on Sunday 8 March 2026 it was reported that a woman had been assaulted by another woman at Toby Carvery in Castle Lane East, Bournemouth.
“The victim – a local woman in her 30s – was also subsequently pushed by a man.
“During the incident she did sustain a minor injury to her hand.
“No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.”
