Chelsea are approaching crisis mode after their poor recent form under Liam Rosenior, and Lewis Hall may have just told the owners what the problem is.

The Blues have just two wins in their last eight games, and recent performances from some of their promising young stars are casting doubt over their ability to feature just yet.

Mamadou Sarr struggled in particular against PSG, and when he looked around for support there were not a lot of experienced heads to hand him advice.

Who would you like to see replace Liam Rosenior if he gets sacked?

This is different to the situation Hall had at Chelsea, and he has spoken about how having Thiago Silva as a teammate helped him greatly.

He said: “It goes without saying really the experience he has in the game. He’s played a number of games at the highest level, and although he didn’t really speak much English, he was so good with me and always wanted to help me improve.

“He was obviously playing a lot of games for Chelsea, and quite regularly for someone of his age, he was taking time on the training pitch to try and help me out. At the time, him and a lot of other players were trying to help me improve. Whenever you get to play and train with older players, you learn a lot from them. I’m really grateful.”

Chelsea’s most experienced centre-back on the pitch on that day was Trevoh Chalobah, who was just 24 years old himself when Silva left the club.

Blues supporters have been crying out for experience to be added to their side. There was even hope they would sign Silva when he eventually made the move to Porto.

The oldest player in the current Chelsea squad is Tosin Adarabioyo, and even he is expected to be up for sale when the season ends.

There have certainly been positive parts of the project. The addition of Estevao Willian could set the club up for brilliance in attack for approximately a decade.

What are your thoughts on Nick Woltemade potentially replacing Liam Delap?

However, when the likes of Victor Osimhen and Michael Olise fall by the wayside and the club continue to pursue with unproven stars, questions have to be asked of the decision makers at Stamford Bridge.

The next transfer window will be a great measuring stick for if the club are planning to make any changes to their policy.

Liam Rosenior has reportedly been involved in conversations regarding summer signings. He will be staying, but we will have to find out if important changes are coming.
