“Someone asked me to just throw it to him, so I threw it,” Matty said. “The next thing it was halfway round the stadium.
“It come back to me though.”
After the game, fellow Everton fans took to social media to describe Matty as a “legend”.
While some considered the toaster as a “lucky charm”, others questioned how he was able to get through security.
“Done it now ain’t he, that’s coming to every game,” one fan said.
“How he do that? Ya can’t get a water bottle in the stadium,” said another.
