The investment, secured from the Labour Government, aims to improve Boscombe in line with community needs and ambitions.

Tom Hayes MP, the Labour MP for Bournemouth East, said: “I’m determined that Boscombe is in the driving seat when it comes to deciding how this £20 millions of Government funding is spent.

“People want to shape, see, and feel positive change.

“I’m keen to quickly recruit an independent Chair and, once the process is agreed, I’ll make sure everyone who wants to contribute knows what’s going on.

“In the meantime, we can all begin agreeing priorities.”

The independent chair, who must have strong local ties, will help recruit a board made up primarily of people who live and work in Boscombe.

The board will also include charities, faith and community groups, schools, cultural groups, and Mr Hayes.

One of its first tasks will be to develop a vision for Boscombe.

The process will involve detailed community engagement to ensure everyone, especially those previously excluded from decision-making, has a say.

Mr Hayes is encouraging residents to share their views through his survey and register for an upcoming town hall meeting at tomhayes.org.uk/boscombe-pride-ecs.
