But where do you think the new home for the WSL team should be?

Where would you like to see the new arena? We want to see your ideas in the comments section below.

Paul Barber spoke optimistically about the new venue for the women’s team on the club’s podcast.

He talked about regularly filling a stadium with a capacity of 10,000 and creating a great atmosphere.

He also mentioned support and encouragement the club have had from Brighton and Hove Council.

The new stadium will, it is thought, be the world’s first built specifically for women’s football.

A site very near the Amex would have obvious advantages as facilities at the existing stadium could be used on match days.

But the club also has a significant presence in Lancing and the town was, for a while, the home of the women’s team when they played at Culver Road. But that would be under a different council.

But neither the Sussex FA headquarters nor any other existing stadia, including Withdean, seem fitting for a redevelopment to host WSL and, ideally, women’s European football.

Sites including Waterhall and Toad’s Hole Valley were mentioned back in the days when Albion were looking for a new stadium site for men’s football.

Barber, the club’s deputy chairman and chief executive, has been keen to show appreciation of Crawley Town for staging WSL matches.

But the drawbacks for Albion are fairly obvious and were again in evidence as the Seagulls drew 0-0 before 2,316 fans and in quite a flat atmosphere on Sunday.

There are plans for Albion to play more often at the Amex next season.

But the stadium is too big for them and there are other specific considerations for players and fans at a women’s game.

The new stadium can bring in new fans, similar to what happened with the Amex, growing support for the team.

There are certain fixtures at Crawley at the moment which feel a bit like away games for the Seagulls.

It will also add a few more miles to the away team’s journey if the team plays in Brighton.

“I’m at Brighton,” a reporter for Liverpool women’s team told someone back home as he took a call on his mobile in the press box on Sunday.

No he wasn’t. He was at Crawley.

But he will be one day. So where do you think that should be? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
