Five car parks across Leicestershire are set to shut within days after parking giant NCP was placed into administration.
The closures are among 22 sites across the country identified as commercially unviable by newly-appointed administrators at accountancy firm PwC.
National Car Parks Limited entered administration on Monday, March 16, with the 95-year-old company saying a post-Covid slump in parking demand had never fully recovered.
Workers staying at home and changing commuter habits hit city-centre locations hardest, while long-term leases on loss-making sites piled on further pressure.
Following an initial assessment of its around 340 car parks nationwide, administrators today announced 22 sites would shut from 11:59pm on Thursday, March 27.
The five Leicestershire sites, among them are:

Across the closing sites, 33 employees will be made redundant on March 31, with administrators saying those affected will be supported through the statutory redundancy payments process.
The remaining 318 NCP car parks across the country are not affected and will continue to operate as normal, with no further closures identified at this time.
