Leicester City will have at least two more players in contention when club football resumes as they near a fully-fit squad for the relegation run-in.
Both Aaron Ramsey and Jannik Vestergaard are expected to be available when City host Preston on Good Friday, with both well on the comeback trail.
Looking ahead to City’s game against North End, manager Gary Rowett said after the goalless draw with Watford: “We’ll have a few injured players back to bolster what we can do.”
Attacking midfielder Ramsey has not played since the final match of 2025 following a repeat of his hamstring issue and may have travelled to Vicarage Road had he not picked up an illness last week.

Vestergaard, meanwhile, has not featured since Marti Cifuentes’ final game in charge in January, having had a hernia operation. He’s now been back in training for more than a week.
The Dane perhaps has the better chance of the pair in going straight into the starting line-up, with manager Gary Rowett typically selecting the more experienced players.
Ramsey would be expected to at least make the substitutes’ bench, likely in place of Dujuan Richards.
City could have a couple more players returning shortly afterwards. Harry Souttar has been training for a few weeks now following 15 months out, although it may be tough for him to get into the matchday squad given the length of his absence and the competition at centre-back.
Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is due to return from an ankle issue during April and that will give Rowett a decision to make.
The veteran had been his number one, but Jakub Stolarczyk’s return to the side has seen City keep two clean sheets in their last three games.
Once all four players are back, that will leave just Victor Kristiansen on the sidelines, with the left-back expected to miss most, if not all, of the remainder of the campaign.
City will also be hoping that none of their international players return with problems. They have 11 members of their senior squad representing their countries over the next couple of weeks.
On international duty are Jordan James (Wales), Hamza Choudhury (Bangladesh), Bobby De Cordova-Reid (Jamaica), Abdul Fatawu (Ghana), Jordan Ayew (Ghana), Patson Daka (Zambia), Ben Nelson (England U21s), Bade Aluko (England U20s), Divine Mukasa (England U19s), Louis Page (England U18s), Jeremy Monga (England U18s)
Academy striker Lorenz Hutchinson has received a late call-up and will join Page and Monga in the England Under-18s squad. Another youngster, midfielder Hugo De Lisle, is with England Under-17s.
