Eromeo Quintus, 21, is a chemical engineering student who set up Quintus & Co. to help students and young professionals with growing student loan fears and uncertainty about investing.

He said he has been investing since he was 18 and wants to share his knowledge with others.

Eromeo said: “I’ve seen on the news that student loans have now become a talking point, because people are worried they are not going to be able to pay them off.

“I notice at schools and in university you don’t really get that dedicated time to learn about financial literacy, it is rarely mentioned or talking about.

“With the cost of living crisis and expenses increasing over time, I think it’s more important that people know about investing than ever, because savings in a bank account aren’t worth as much.”

Eromeo said he is currently giving free workshops at the University of Southampton and Kingston University, where he is from.

He added: “The response to the workshops has honestly been great.

“Afterwards, some of the people attending will come up and say, ‘I didn’t even know things like this existed’.”

Eromeo said the workshops are only the beginning of his plans for the company.

He added: “My big aim is to push the government to find a place or have a workshop so students can learn more about things like mortgages and investing.

“Information like this is so hard to get a hold of for students, even online there are loads of scams and it’s hard to know what information to trust.

“Not all students will know how to start their own research, I want students to know about investing from a younger age.

He has also launched another company, Branded Barber, a white label grooming company that sells products to barbershops for them to resell.

He said: “My drive to build something meaningful comes largely from my background.

“I moved to South London from Germany when I was 11.

“My father originally moved to Germany from Sri Lanka to escape the war, and watching my parents work incredibly hard to rebuild their lives in a new country inspired me to pursue entrepreneurship and financial independence.”
