Newcastle United need to make a decision on Eddie Howe after a dismal season, and they’ve already been eyeing a new manager since January.
The Magpies suffered a disappointing defeat against their rivals, Sunderland, on Sunday afternoon, conceding in the final minutes to a scrappy Brian Brobbey goal.
The win for Sunderland meant they’ve now done the double over Newcastle upon their return to the Premier League, summing up a shocking season for Howe’s side.
Winning the derby will have been one of the few silver linings Newcastle could have grasped this season, and they are now in danger of failing to qualify for any European competitions or lift any silverware.
Now, the pressure is surely mounting on Howe, and they’ve already been eyeing possible replacements for the summer since January.

Newcastle now need to sack Howe immediately, with the defeat at home to Sunderland surely sealing his fate.
The Magpies are out of all cup competitions and have little chance of qualifying for European competitions, while Howe has now become the first Newcastle manager to lose both of his first two games against rivals Sunderland.
GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed earlier this year that Newcastle are eyeing Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola for the summer as a possible replacement for Howe, but they need to bring that forward and try to get him as soon as possible.
Iraola is out of contract at the end of the season, which would make it easier to get him, but the Magpies need to sack Howe in order to try and rescue their season in the final seven Premier League matches.

Champions League Qualification Still Achievable

Realistically, there is still a chance that Newcastle can qualify for Champions League football, and a new manager bounce might be what they need to do just that.
Iraola, who Sky Sports pundit Sam Tighe told GIVEMESPORT is the ‘best young coach in the world’, could be leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season and is a target for Newcastle, and if the Magpies are planning a potential change in the summer, they may as well do it now.
It’s time for a change at St James’ Park, with them being just seven points away from fourth, but Howe might not be the man to lead them to Champions League football anymore.
