RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat assisted on March 20.

The crew assisted a broken-down jet ski with two people on board, drifting dangerously towards the rocks.

Tasked by HM Coastguard, at 9.46 am the crew launched their Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Henrietta H and were on scene by 9.51am.

The casualties were quickly located and safely towed back into Christchurch Harbour.

Both casualties were brought ashore safe and well and the crew returned to station and were back on service at 10.20am.

Mudeford RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Steve Doe, said: “This incident is a reminder of how quickly things can escalate on the water.

“Even a minor mechanical failure can put you and others at risk, especially near hazards like rocks or strong tides.

“We’d always urge anyone heading out to sea to ensure their vessel is well maintained, carry a means of calling for help, and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.”

If you see someone in trouble at sea, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard. For more safety information visit www.rnli.org/safety
