The domestic campaign may have been a bit of a disaster, but Liverpool are still going strong in the Champions League this season and have two players included in the current Team of the Tournament.
Most recently, the Reds earned an extra £10.8m in prize money when they managed to beat Galatasaray 4-0 and secure a place in the last-16.
Liverpool will now face PSG in the quarter-finals next month, and ahead of the clash, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai have been named in the Champions League Team of the Tournament so far.

Liverpool predicted XI vs Brighton – GRV Media Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai in Champions League Team of the Tournament
Szoboszlai has been called Liverpool’s best player this season and could potentially break a Steven Gerrard record if he keeps up his current form.
In Europe, despite often being used in the right-back role, the Hungarian has notched an impressive five goals and four assists in 10 appearances.
Meanwhile, Van Dijk has been questioned this term, including after that 4-1 loss to PSV in the group phase.
However, the Dutchman has still done enough to be named as one of the two centre-backs in WhoScored’s Team of the Tournament so far.
Szoboszlai is the only other Liverpool ace to make the XI, while Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe is the highest-rated player overall.
GK: Thibaut Courtois (7.41)RB: Achraf Hakimi (7.12)CB: Virgil van Dijk (7.19) CB: Dean Huijsen (7.13)LB: Nuno Mendes (7.32)RM: Michael Olise (7.97)CM: Dominik Szoboszlai (7.83)CM: Francisco Trincao (7.45)LM: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7.66)ST: Harry Kane (8.03)ST: Kylian Mbappe (8.22)
PSG, who Liverpool are taking on next, have the joint-most players in the team so far alongside Real Madrid.
The Ligue 1 powerhouse are the current holders of the trophy and knocked the Reds out of the Champions League in 2024/25.
Despite dominating in Europe and already beating Slot’s side, though, Luis Enrique has praised Liverpool ahead of their next meeting.
He said: “Liverpool holds good memories for us, of course. I remember last year. Liverpool were the best team in Europe at that stage, they were playing incredible football.”
Enrique also insisted there are ‘no favourites’ in the game, though Opta do give PSG a higher (9.98%) chance of winning the Champions League than Liverpool (7.73%).
