Toffees can add to blues for visitors
Chelsea were outclassed 8-2 on aggregate by Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League, a 3-0 defeat in the second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday completing their ordeal.
It was a toothless performance from the Blues, who must now focus their attention on their pursuit of a Champions League place through the Premier League and their FA Cup run.
However, Liam Rosenior could struggle to lift his side quickly after such a chastening experience and Everton could capitalise when the sides meet this evening.
It is no secret that Everton have struggled to adjust to their new Hill Dickinson Stadium home this season, picking up more points on their travels (24) than on their own patch (19).
But they were 2-0 winners in their most recent home game against Burnley and they have won two of their last three fixtures, having nearly held Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday, only for the title favourites to score in the 89th and 97th minutes.
The Toffees know how to make life tough for their opponents, conceding just 35 times in 30 league fixtures this season, and that defensive organisation could stifle Chelsea, who have underperformed their total xG (expected goals) of 63.28 by 10.28 this campaign.
Chelsea are also expected to be without key defender Trevoh Chalobah for this game, while Benoit Badiashile has been out with illness.
Given their issues converting chances and the potential disruption to their defence, Chelsea are worth taking on in this match by Everton in the draw-no-bet market at 6/4.
