Bees looking like seasoned travellers
These sides are at opposite ends of the Premier League and in both cases their need for points is acute.
Leeds are 15th, only three points clear of the relegation zone. Although their top-flight status looked reasonably secure a few weeks ago, their failure to win any of their last five league games has closed the gap between themselves and the bottom three.
Daniel Farke’s side have won 22 of their 32 points at home this season, but they have been beaten in their last two league matches at Elland Road, Manchester City and Sunderland inflicting 1-0 defeats.
Brentford will be looking to take advantage of this dip as they bid to qualify for Europe for the first time in their 137-year history. The Bees are currently seventh, which looks likely to be good enough to qualify for next season’s Europa League.
It would be a remarkable achievement for Keith Andrews’ side, who were among the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season. For much of this campaign their success has been built on their home form, but in recent weeks it has been their away performances that have impressed.
Brentford are without a win in their last four home games but on the road they have won five and drawn one of their previous seven, those league victories coming at Wolves, Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Burnley.
It’s tempting to back Brentford at 15/8 to win but, with Leeds desperate for points, I’m playing it safe and backing the visitors in the draw no bet market at evens.
