Latest News: Boubacar Kamara (knee) remains out for Aston Villa, while reports suggest Alysson (muscle) won’t be back until after the international break. However, in better news, Youri Tielemans (ankle) has returned to training after a two-month absence and will be assessed. Matty Cash and Emiliano Buendia recovered from injury to feature off the bench on Thursday night, too. Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash (provided he is fully fit) are anticipated to return to the starting line-up here, likely replacing Victor Lindelof and Lamare Bogarde, despite the pair impressing in Europe. Pau Torres or Tyrone Mings, who has been preferred in five of the last six league matches, is the key dilemma for Unai Emery at the back, but with the home side expected to have most of the ball, the Spaniard’s ability to provide control in the build-up could be favoured. With Ian Maatsen getting 90 minutes against Lille, we’re likely going to see Lucas Digne at left-back. Given that it’s surely too soon for Tielemans to start, Ross Barkley – who isn’t registered in Europe – and Douglas Luiz will battle it out for a place next to Amadou Onana in the middle. Further forward, the front four in our predicted line-up all played well on Thursday, particularly Jadon Sancho, who arguably had his best game in a Villa shirt so far. Ollie Watkins, meanwhile, looked refreshed after replacing Tammy Abraham off the bench and will be desperate to impress, having been dropped from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Latest News: Andoni Iraola is expecting to have a similar squad to the one that faced Burnley last weekend, with the Cherries having no fresh concerns. Tyler Adams (unspecified), who missed out last Saturday, remains out alongside Lewis Cook (hamstring), while Justin Kluivert (knee) and Julio Soler (hamstring) are longer-term absentees. The central midfield two picks itself with Adams and Cook out, and that may have a bearing on the rest of Iraola’s selection. The Bournemouth manager’s decision to bench Alex Jimenez last weekend was partly due to “niggles” but also because Iraola put out “a very offensive side from the beginning”, which included no bona fide number six and, effectively, two strikers in the shape of Eli Kroupi and Evanilson. Given that the Cherries haven’t recovered either of their two defensive midfielders, is Iraola really going to go as/even more attacking against Manchester United than he was willing to do against struggling Burnley? If not, we could perhaps see Jimenez playing as a winger, as he did in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, and/or Kroupi dropped from the side in favour of an alternative number 10. Amine Adli and David Brooks are further options out wide but Rayan has started every single league game since his full league debut.

Latest News: Keith Andrews will give Mikkel Damsgaard (knock) “every chance” to be fit after he was forced off on Monday night. The Danish midfielder has trained since, and was named in his country’s squad for the upcoming internationals, so the omens sound quite good. Elsewhere, it’s as you were, with Rico Henry (hamstring), Aaron Hickey (hamstring) and Vitaly Janelt (foot) remaining sidelined until after the March international break. Antoni Milambo and Fábio Carvalho (both knee) are out for the season, while Josh Dasilva (knee) is only in “modified training” and unlikely to be in a matchday squad for a good while yet. Even if Damsgaard is fit, Andrews might decide now is the time to move away from starting the Dane and his compatriot Mathias Jensen in the same side, a tactic – coupled with Janelt’s injury – that has left the Bees looking a bit exposed in midfield of late. We may see a double-pivot of Jordan Henderson and Yehor Yarmoliuk at Elland Road, then. At the back, Nathan Collins and Sepp van den Berg have resumed their partnership over the last two Gameweeks, although it’s still too early to say whether Kristoffer Ajer is out of the equation, with the defensive display not great against Wolves. Ajer actually came on during that game but had a torrid evening at left-back, so we’re not expecting to see him there again. Keane Lewis-Potter moved up to left-wing after Ajer’s introduction, with a poor Kevin Schade hooked, but it’s maybe a bit too premature to be considering the German as a rotation risk.

Latest News: Kaoru Mitoma has recovered from the ankle problem that kept him out of the Gameweek 30 victory over Sunderland, while Fabian Hurzeler confirmed that the Seagulls have no fresh concerns for the visit of Liverpool. Adam Webster (knee) and Stefanos Tzimas (knee) are long-term absentees. Hurzeler has pretty much gone with the same 11 players for the recent victories over Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, making a few fatigue-led/precautionary changes (resting veterans James Milner, Danny Welbeck and Lewis Dunk) for the midweek Gameweek 29 defeat to Arsenal. The one change across those three wins was enforced, with Yankuba Minteh in for Mitoma last Saturday. It’s an alteration that Hurzeler could reverse now that the Japanese winger is available again but after Minteh performed well and scored on a hard-earned first league start of 2026 (he even earned some elusive praise from his manager!), Hurzeler will perhaps leave things untouched again as Albion’s momentum snowballs on.

Latest News: Scott Parker reported “no real injuries” from the goalless draw with Bournemouth, so we’re assuming everyone is fit, including Maxime Esteve, who was only forced off due to illness. Mike Tresor (ankle) has been back in training for some time now, so his omission from last weekend’s squad may have just been tactical rather than fitness-related. Long-term absentees Zeki Amdouni (knee) and Connor Roberts (Achilles), who have also rejoined their teammates on the grass recently, likely won’t be ready to feature for a good time yet, while Axel Tuanzebe (Achilles), Josh Cullen (knee) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain out. Parker declared himself happy with the performance against the Cherries, particularly the defensive side of the display after a rare clean sheet. Don’t expect too many changes, then, but the Burnley boss did admit that wins are much needed now, so he may be tempted to throw Marcus Edwards back in after he returned from injury as a substitute in Gameweek 30.

Latest News: Trevoh Chalobah (ankle) has avoided a season-ending injury after being stretchered off against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday but the centre-back is still expected to be sidelined for around six weeks. Reece James (hamstring) and Filip Jorgensen (groin) remain out till after the break, too, while it’s too soon for long-term absentee Levi Colwill (knee) to be involved, despite his return to training. We didn’t get any updates from Rosenior on Malo Gusto and Benoit Badiashile, who missed out against PSG due to illness, or Jamie Gittens (hamstring), who had a setback last week, but Gusto was then spotted in training, so we assume he’s fine. Gusto and Wesley Fofana will likely be added to the defence on Saturday but it’s a complete toss-up as to who else gets the nod at centre-half, with Mamadou Sarr, Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong, Jorrel Hato and Badiashile (if fit) all possibilities. With Badiashile ill in midweek and Sarr struggling against PSG (albeit in an unnatural position), perhaps Rosenior will turn to Tosin with Everton’s physicality in mind. There’s not a great deal of debate elsewhere, especially with Jorgensen injured (so Robert Sanchez starts) and Joao Pedro, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer all taken off early on Tuesday to preserve them for domestic matches ahead. The main question mark is Andrey Santos; Rosenior could opt for Romeo Lavia or even a deeper Enzo in midfield, bringing in Alejandro Garnacho further forward. The latter (Enzo alongside Moises Caicedo) hasn’t happened from the start of a game for a while, however.

Latest News: Jack Grealish (foot) and Tyrique George (ineligible) are definitely unavailable, while Charly Alcaraz is expected to miss out again with an unspecified issue. As for Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski, David Moyes is hopeful that they will be “in and around” his matchday squad for the visit of Chelsea. Both centre-backs were absent last weekend for unknown reasons but Moyes said on Friday that the Toffees have “got them back amongst it, I think.” That leaves plenty of uncertainty at the rear, with Jake O’Brien and Michael Keane actually doing pretty well at the Emirates despite the eventual 2-0 loss. With Tarkowski, the details are vague but it sounds like he only had a minor injury before Gameweek 30, and he has since trained. So too has Branthwaite, but Moyes has said previously about how the club would have to manage his workload after January’s return from a long-term absence, so you wonder if the younger centre-back will be spared for this one, giving him another three weeks of recovery and conditioning before the next competitive game. Further forward, the only real question mark is over whether James Garner returns to the midfield at the expense of Tim Iroegbunam or is again needed at right-back.

Latest News: Emile Smith Rowe has been back in training this week, having felt some discomfort ahead of Gameweek 30 and sitting the game out. Fulham will not just make a late call on him but also on Kenny Tete, who has finger and foot issues. Kevin (foot) is still out. Timothy Castagne will be on standby to fill in for Tete, with the defence – which included a restored Joachim Andersen – surely otherwise unchanged after a clean sheet at the City Ground. A Smith Rowe recovery would put Josh King at risk, meanwhile. Samuel Chukwueze could well oust Oscar Bobb from the left flank, with Alex Iwobi also an option out wide, given that Sasa Lukic and Tom Cairney are alternatives in midfield. Expect another hour for Raul Jimenez before Rodrigo Muniz takes over line-leading duties, as has happened in the last six Gameweeks.

Next Match: Brentford (H)

Latest News: Noah Okafor (hamstring) has recovered and rejoined training this week, so Daniel Farke has a fully-fit squad for the visit of Brentford. The Whites will be without one of their regulars, however: Gabriel Gudmundsson serves a one-match ban following last Sunday’s dismissal. While Farke did his best to highlight other players who could feature at left wing-back (Sam Byram, one of his wingers), it’s almost certain that the versatile James Justin will switch flanks to deputise for Gudmundsson. That, in turn, will allow Jayden Bogle to return to the side after last Sunday’s benching. Other than that, probably the only other decision that Farke has to make is over whether to start with two strikers up top again or reinstate Ilia Gruev in midfield. Going with Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was an experiment that only ended at half-time due to Gudmundsson’s red card, with Farke saying his side didn’t allow Palace “any chance” before the dismissal and “had the better chances”. He added that it was “important to have physical players on the pitch” to deal with set plays, a threat that Brentford will most definitely pose this weekend. He might stick with the same attack, then, but Gruev (or Sean Longstaff) could still find their way in at the expense of Brenden Aaronson, whose performances have perhaps tailed off of late.

Latest News: Mohamed Salah (muscle) has joined Alexander Isak (ankle), Wataru Endo (foot), Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring), Conor Bradley (knee) and Giovanni Leoni (knee) on the sidelines ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brighton and Hove Albion. Reports later in the day suggest that Alisson is also now out with a fresh injury. Arne Slot meanwhile confirmed that Joe Gomez “might be” involved against the Seagulls but won’t be able to start; the defender was among the substitutes in midweek but wasn’t usable due to “issues”. Gomez and Salah not being starting XI options deprives their manager of possibilities down the right flank, which isn’t ideal given that Jeremie Frimpong has just started successive games on Sunday and Wednesday and was namechecked by Slot as someone who needs careful management. Curtis Jones or Dominik Szoboszlai may be forced to deputise at right-back, then, although Frimpong was substituted early enough in each of the last two games to suggest that he could get a third outing in a week, something he last did in January. Elsewhere, Andrew Robertson for Milos Kerkez is a possible (and semi-frequent) change at left-back, while you’d expect Cody Gakpo to step up to replace Salah. That’s not to say that Florian Wirtz (three straight starts), Alexis Mac Allister (six straight starts) or Hugo Ekitike (benched last weekend) couldn’t also be spared, with Rio Ngumoha and Jones fresh options to consider.

Latest News: Noussair Mazraoui (illness) missed training in midweek but should be available for the Gameweek 31 curtain-raiser. The Bournemouth game comes too soon for Lisandro Martinez (calf), Matthijs de Ligt (back) and Patrick Dorgu (hamstring), however. As for Mason Mount, he returned from injury to feature on the bench in Gameweek 30 and looks set to be among the substitutes again on Friday, with Michael Carrick saying that “starting would be too much”. There was no question posed to Carrick about how he plans to solve his four-into-three dilemma in attack, with Benjamin Sesko again staking his claim with yet another goal off the bench in Gameweek 30. The Slovenian might be unlucky again, as a match-up against Bournemouth’s intense, high-pressing side might be a better fixture for runners such as Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo, who will hope to exploit space on the break. Amad was the fall-guy the last time Sesko was promoted to the starting XI but Mbeumo was hooked for the striker in Gameweek 30, and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the former Brentford winger is benched for the first time under Carrick.

Latest News: The Magpies will assess Sandro Tonali (groin) after the midfielder limped out of Wednesday’s defeat to Barcelona. Eddie Howe said the issue is “hopefully not as bad as maybe we first feared”, and the midfielder has indeed been named in the Italy squad for the upcoming internationals, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he makes a very swift recovery for the Tyne-Wear derby. It’s as you were with the others: Lewis Miley (dead leg/muscle), Fabian Schar (ankle) and Bruno Guimaraes (hamstring) should be back after the March international break, while Emil Krafth (knee) is out longer term. Howe has been making regular line-up changes regardless of performance, with the Magpies playing every weekend and every midweek throughout the calendar year so far. There’ll likely be alterations from the midweek loss in the Nou Camp, then, with the chastening nature of the defeat in Spain perhaps making his decisions a bit easier. Don’t be surprised to see Tino Livramento and Sven Botman reinstated to the backline, having played a part in Newcastle’s clean sheet at Stamford Bridge last weekend. Joe Willock, excellent against Chelsea in Gameweek 30, is another who could bring fresh legs to the side, especially if Tonali is out. Nick Woltemade is yet to convince in any position but given the likelihood of injury-hit Sunderland arriving on Tyneside with a low block, this might actually be a game suited to his link-up play and quick footwork. Anthony Elanga staked a claim for a place with a confidence-boosting brace against Barca, while it’s worth bearing in mind Harvey Barnes’ recent minutes: he’s the only midfielder or forward to start each of the last four games over the last fortnight, lasting pretty much the full game in each of them. He stayed on while the likes of Elanga, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon were withdrawn in Catalonia.

Latest News: We’re still waiting to hear about any fresh concerns from Thursday night but Callum Hudson-Odoi wasn’t involved in Denmark for reasons unknown, while Jair Cunha (ankle) again missed out. John Victor (knee), Willy Boly (knee), Nicola Savona (knee) and Chris Wood (knee) are longer-term absentees. Vitor Pereira clearly had one eye on Sunday’s six-pointer by making nine changes to his starting XI against FC Midtjylland, while Nikola Milenkovic – one of the two to keep his place – was spared after an hour. Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson, who made an impact as substitutes in Gameweek 30, were also withdrawn at that point. Speaking after full-time, Pereira said “60 minutes… is something that we can recover [from] to the next game”, so perhaps we’re looking at those players who had an hour or less in the Conference League (i.e. this predicted line-up) for teamsheet clues for Sunday. Ryan Yates and James McAtee, who impressed in Denmark, may be unlucky to miss out, then. Igor Jesus was rested completely on Thursday as Lorenzo Lucca got the full two hours but after the Brazilian toiled against Fulham, and considering the positive impression that Taiwo Awoniyi made off the bench in Gameweek 30, perhaps the Nigerian merits an opportunity here.

Latest News: Jocelin Ta Bi (ankle), Nilson Angulo (unknown), Romaine Mundle (hamstring) and Bertrand Traore (knee) are all out of the Tyne-Wear derby but Reinildo Mandava (knee) is back available again. That leaves Nordi Mukiele (calf), Robin Roefs (hamstring), Dan Ballard (hamstring) and Enzo Le Fee (minor injury) as uncertainties, with Regis Le Bris saying the club will “have a late assessment” but that the Black Cats “won’t take unnecessary risks”, highlighting the international break as a good time to “manage the last parts of the rehab, if necessary”. Speaking last weekend, Le Bris sounded more confident about Le Fee (and Reinildo) than he did Mukiele or Roefs, the latter of whom has been omitted from the Netherlands squad, if that’s any reliable gauge. Ballard has made the provisional Northern Ireland camp, at least. If none of the above make it, then Melker Ellborg, Luke O’Nien and/or Lutsharel Geetruida will be pressed into action at the back, with Chemsdine Talbi continuing in Le Fee’s role.

Latest News: Igor Tudor is hopeful that Dominic Solanke (hip) will be available to face Nottingham Forest, despite the striker missing the midweek clash with Atletico Madrid and training on Friday. Someone who was sighted in training was Joao Palhinha (head), who looks set to return on Sunday. Gugliemo Vicario, meanwhile, is poised to feature against Forest before undergoing hernia surgery next week. Yves Bissouma (muscle), Wilson Odobert (knee), Ben Davies (ankle), Rodrigo Bentancur (hamstring), Mohammed Kudus (thigh), James Maddison (knee) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) remain out. The Spurs squad looks a lot healthier than it did last weekend, with Destiny Udogie, Conor Gallagher, Lucas Bergvall, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven all returning from injury or suspension in midweek – although the first three were only deemed fit enough for cameos after spells of varying lengths out. Tudor seems to be quite set on a four-at-the-back set-up now but he does have Kevin Danso available if he does want to revert to three centre-halves, or even if he wants to play one of them as a de facto full-back – as he did with Radu Dragusin in midweek. Pedro Porro was stationed higher up the right flank as a result. Xavi Simons seems to have played himself back into contention after a fine showing on Wednesday, so if Richarlison returns to the side as expected, one of Mathys Tel or Randal Kolo Muani could miss out (especially if Porro is in midfield again).

Latest News: Crysencio Summerville (calf) misses out again this weekend but other than that, the Hammers have no concerns. That includes Ollie Scarles, who sat out Gameweek 30 but is now back available. Nuno Espirito Santo circumvented Summerville’s absence and his lack of (convincing) alternative wingers by going with a wing-back system against Manchester City, bringing in Konstantinos Mavropanos as an extra centre-half. Nuno could revert to a back four, bringing in Adama Traore or an additional central midfielder like Freddie Potts, Soungoutou Magassa or Mo Kante, but a trip to Villa Park may be deemed tricky enough to persevere with this conservative set-up.
