Liverpool is set to be without Alisson for this weekend’s Premier League trip to Brighton.
The player is not set to be involved in the game due to injury and he will also miss Brazil’s upcoming fixtures over the March international break. The five-time world champions have already confirmed Hugo Souza will replace Alisson for the upcoming friendlies against France and Croatia in the USA.
For Liverpool, the goalkeeper’s absence means Giorgi Mamardashvili will deputize at the Amex on Saturday.

While details are vague on the extent of Alisson’s injury, it’s understood the club is not willing to risk the experienced stopper this weekend.
The 33-year-old, who last week signed a one-year extension at Anfield, has missed nine games this season due to hamstring injuries, although there is no indication at this stage whether that has caused him to miss the Brighton encounter.
Alisson was forced to sit out last week’s trip to Turkey with a minor hamstring issue, but he returned for the matches against Tottenham and the second leg against Galatasaray this week.

Mamardashvili filled in at Rams Park last week and put in an impressive display, making several key saves to keep the opposition score to just one.
Saturday’s game will be his 13th for the club since joining from Valencia on loan, and Alisson’s latest injury will only fuel talk of the Reds’ goalkeeping transition.
Elsewhere, Arne Slot confirmed in Friday’s press conference that Mohamed Salah will also miss the Brighton game due to injury.

“”The good thing for Liverpool and for us is that we go to an international break. The bad thing for Egypt is that he can’t go there,” the Liverpool coach said ahead of the trip to the south coast.
“We are hoping also with what Mo has shown in the past that he can recover faster than other players might in similar situations because he takes such good care of his body. History has shown that he can be earlier back than some others.
“But it’s only two weeks when we go again so let’s hope in that period of time he can be back.”
Slot also revealed he is managing the minutes of Joe Gomez, who is dealing with a knock, and Jeremie Frimpong, who has recently returned from a groin injury.
Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo and Alexander Isak complete Liverpool’s injury list, although the latter is expected to return after the international break.
