Burns was brought on at half time against Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, but was withdrawn with a calf injury in the 74th minute.

Nunez, on the other hand, has been sidelined with a hamstring issue that he felt the day after the 1-1 home draw against Leicester City earlier this month.

The former has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game at Portman Road, but the latter has a chance to be involved.

“Wes won’t be available this weekend,” McKenna confirmed. “It’s not a serious injury, so that was a positive. He’ll be fit all being well during the international break.

“Marcelino is a touch and go, so we’ll see how he is.”

Jaden Philogene had an extended spell out with an MCL injury, returning at Hillsborough last week, coming off the bench to replace Burns for the final 16 minutes plus stoppage time.

McKenna revealed that he’s one of the Town players who has been hit with illness, however, but that he’ll be in the squad to face the Lions.

“He’s been okay,” the Blues boss said. “There’s actually been a little bit of sickness in the camp this week so he was one of them, so he’ll be in the squad again tomorrow.

“There hasn’t been too much change, we had a few other knocks and issues around Saturday [v Sheffield Wednesday], one or two are still getting assessed right up to the time of the game.

“We’ll have a strong team.”
