Arsenal enjoyed an impressive summer transfer window, and Berta’s changes to the squad have put the team into contention for the quadruple.
But following an impressive first season in North London, the former Atletico Madrid director is attracting interest from all around Europe.
Andrea Berta is not expected to leave Arsenal
Andrea Berta is not expected to leave Arsenal following recent links to Manchester City, Bayern Munich and AS Monaco.
City and Bayern are keen on bringing in Berta, as the two European giants prepare for major overhauls this summer.
However, Arsenal are fully expecting Berta to be a part of their long-term project in N5, despite interest from elsewhere.
Speaking about the situation, Jacobs told TalkSPORT: “Arsenal obviously have all of the cards, and it may be that there’s a bit of leverage going on here as well and then Berta can go back to Arsenal and get improved terms after doing really well since he’s come in.
“I have no reason to think that Berta’s looking to move away. He hasn’t struggled with the acclimatisation. He’s been learning English. He’s been very aggressive in the market.”
As the journalist points out, links elsewhere could give Berta even greater power to control what the Gunners allow him to do in the summer.
Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer with Andrea Berta
Meanwhile, in the transfer window, Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer with Berta leading their recruitment drive.
Speaking about the Gunners’ plans for the summer window, Jacobs added: “Arsenal, regardless of what happens this season, are in for a big summer as well.

“If Andrea Berta was not receiving job offers, it would be more concerning for Arsenal because it would tell you that he’s not doing well and he isn’t in demand.
“So at this stage Arsenal are not fearful of a departure, but it is true that some clubs have made inquiries, particularly, I’m told, Monaco.
“As I say, that’s normal, and from Arsenal’s point of view they’re expecting Andrea Berta to be a long-term part of their project.”
