It might well be a case of too little too late as a resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers side head to Brentford in the Monday night Premier League game.

Winning recent games against Aston Villa and Liverpool, Wolves have made a late push for survival but it’s unlikely to be enough to stop the West Midlands outfit from being a Championship side next season.

Those wins over the Villans and the Reds came at Molineux and Wolves have been a different beast on the road, and not in a positive way.

Winless away from home in the Premier League this season, it’s hard to see Wolves getting anything from their trip to the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday night.

Brentford have tailed off at home in recent weeks but by and large, the Gtech Community Stadium has been a tough place for visiting teams to go this season.

The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United have all left the home of the Bees empty-handed and it’s unlikely Wolves will have anything to show for their efforts on Monday night either.

Brentford earned a comfortable 2-0 win at Molineux when these sides met in the Premier League earlier this season.

Wolves’ recent resurgence and Brentford’s slight dip in home form might make this a slightly tighter contest, with both sides capable of getting on the scoresheet.

However, Brentford’s extra quality, especially in the final third, should show through over the course of the game and Keith Andrews’ men are tipped for the win.

Thiago to strike first

It has been a tremendous Premier League campaign for Brentford forward Igor Thiago, with the Brazilian having already scored 18 goals this season.

Scoring a brace in the Bees’ FA Cup defeat to West Ham United last time out, Thiago has now bagged three goals in his last three games.

Scoring first-half goals against both the Hammers and Burnley in that time, Thiago has been a threat from the first whistle and the 24-year-old is good value to bag the opening goal of the game against Wolves in this one.

Lewis-Potter can haunt Wolves again

Keane Lewis-Potter has been a key figure for Andrews in the Brentford midfield this season and the 25-year-old has also shown an eye for goal.

Able to pick up pockets of space around the area, Lewis-Potter’s last goal came last month in Brentford’s 1-1 draw against Premier League frontrunners Arsenal.

The former Hull City star will have fond memories of facing Wolves, having scored both goals in the 2-0 victory at Molineux back in December.

That was a day to remember for Lewis-Potter and, knowing how he can get himself in goalscoring positions against this opponent, the Englishman is well priced to bag a fourth Premier League goal of the season on Monday night.
