Tottenham supporters have been fearing the worst recently, although the team’s performance at Anfield which earned a point has certainly eased any relegation fears.

While the London side are positioned in sixteenth and just a point above the drop zone, they have a superior goal difference to Nottingham Forest and West Ham below them.

With eight games remaining, the Premier League betting sites think survival is now likely. The way in which Igor Tudor galvanised his Tottenham team following four straight defeats under the Croatian means that the bookies think survival is a likely outcome.

Spurs are priced at 2/1 for the drop which implies they have a 33% chance of heading to the Championship this term. There’s a big game looming large on the horizon in the form of Nottingham Forest at home.

Tottenham Slight Favourites to Beat Forest on Sunday

A win for Spurs this weekend and they will give themselves daylight when it comes to the drop zone. However, Tottenham have only won twice at home all term and one of those victories came against Burnley in the opening clash.

Since then, they have struggled to make an impression and nine teams have left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a victory. They will be meeting Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week before clashing with a Forest side who have a Europa League meeting in Midtjylland on Thursday.

Forest themselves have failed to win in the top flight since a surprise 2-0 success at Brentford at the end of January and it’s fair to say this game will have a huge bearing on which sides drop down.

Tudor will hope that Richarlison’s late equaliser at Anfield represents a turning point for Tottenham as they bid to preserve their topflight status and prevent what could be one of the biggest shocks in Premier League history.
