Christian Walton – 6
A quiet afternoon for the Cornish custodian, who was well protected by those in front of him. Solid when called upon. Confident aerially. Kicking was mixed.
Darnell Furlong – 6
Didn’t help Ipswich build any rhythm by taking too long over throws and, at one stage, tying his laces. Little got by him though and he managed to avoid that 10th yellow.
Dara O’Shea – 7
Got his head on balls into the box, read danger and maintained composure with ball at feet. Jamal Lowe barely got a sniff.
Jacob Greaves – 7 (MOTM)
Handed his first league start at centre-back since the 2-0 win at Hull back on November 25 due to Cedric Kipre being suspended. Made some big blocks and won a crunching 50/50.

Ben Johnson – 7
With Leif Davis starting a three-game ban, Johnson made his first league start since the 1-1 home draw against Watford on November 4. Got forward well and delivered a superb cross for Ivan Azon’s opening.
Azor Matusiwa – 6
A surprise starter given he came off with a hamstring issue in the latter stages of the midweek draw at Stoke. Wasn’t at his combative best, but did successfully complete his 17 game – yes, 17 – nine-booking tightrope.
Dan Neil wasn’t at his best. (Image: Ross Halls)
Dan Neil – 5
Sunderland loanee’s form has dipped since his impressive showing against Swansea a fortnight ago. Tested the keeper with a low first half shot, but couldn’t help Town build the game control they needed and was replaced on 66.
Sindre Walle Egeli was subbed at the break. (Image: Ross Halls)
Sindre Walle Egeli – 4
Norwegian constantly checked inside instead of trying to take on his man and attack the space in front of him. Miscued a golden rebound chance and produced some unconvincing defensive clearances. Hooked at the break.
Anis Mehmeti – 6
Produced his usual energy and intent, typified by the moment he knocked Walle Egeli over in an attempt to get things going, but the final pass/shot was lacking. Another to avoid that 10th booking.
Jack Clarke is on 13 goals for the season now. (Image: Ross Halls)
Jack Clarke – 7
Hit and miss when it came to his usual repeated attempts to glide past a man. Kept trying to make things happen though and got his reward when winning and converting the penalty clincher. On 13 goals for the season now.
George Hirst battles for the ball. (Image: Ross Halls)
George Hirst – 5
Tried to press, but often wasn’t backed up by his team-mates. Fed off scraps. Outmuscled by Gabriel Otegbayo in one channel run. Replaced on 66.
SUBS
Wes Burns – 7 (for Walle Egeli 66)
Came on at the break, produced some trademark darts and crosses, but soon limped off with a calf issue. Hopefully not too bad.
Jack Taylor – 7 (for Neil, 66)
Added life to the midfield. Super forward pass created a big chance for Ivan Azon.
Chuba Akpom – 7 (for Mehmeti, 66)
Ajax loanee showed some neat touches and link play when introduced in the No.10 role.
Ivan Azon – 7 (for Hirst, 66)
Spaniard put a glorious chance wide after doing all the hard work. Didn’t let his head drop though and broke the deadlock soon afterwards thanks to some sharp movement in the box. Fifth goal of the season.
Jaden Philogene – 6 (for Burns, 74)
Great to see him back for the first time since suffering an MCL knee injury in mid-January.
