Honoured to have seen him play, and given what we know about heavily reduced budgets and 1 year contract constraints since his reign.. It now seems we let a great upcoming manager and legend leave too soon.. My favourite player of all time so call me biased!
I've never experienced anything like that season in football … we just knew anyone we played HAD to score at least 2 to get anything out of the game as Andy pretty much guaranteed us a goal EVERY game . The more he scored ,the more confident he seemed to get, the more confident he got , the more he went for goal and the more he went for goal , the more he scored … it was absolutely magical. Andy was the best there was at any level then … just wish we'd been able to keep him and Lee – who knows how far we could have gone if we had !
