Man watching Lewandowksi this year is sad. Can’t finish can’t run can’t press can’t pass. Ferran is performing better than him especially in the champions league and while averaging less minutes. Ferran at least will press run and help defending. Ive seen Ferran run back from the opposition box to his box tracking back in a counter or covering for someone. Multiple times a game. That’s one of the reasons he is starting in la Liga.
Lewandowski will cover more distance walking than running and sprints a couple times a game. Id be suprised if this team go far in the champions league with Ferran and Lewandowski as their main strikers. Ferran might work as sub for this team but to be the main striker? Not gonna work. Lewandowski is a legend he is old it’s normal to decline at this age. But i can’t wait for him to go this summer. Im sick of watching him look like a 50 yo out there. It’s just sad

Imo Rashford is the best ST we have dunno why Flick doesnt try him there, he cannot dribble as a winger even though he has top tier crossing but we have no Haaland to cross so Yamal-Raph-Rashford for me is the best trio this season at least try even Olmo F9 can work lol, Madrid played Diaz and Arda as double F9 and it worked vs City cause at least F9 usually are good in defense compared to ST and have better linkup so you do not lose alot
Wish I’d see this more in high intensity matches the players showing that hunger feel we don’t see it enough especially when others don’t track back
We should either play rashford or olmo as 9 next leg. Lewa is just not that good anymore at his age in these open games. He cannot run or link up. Olmo can link up and receive the ball deep. Rashford can be an option to just boot the ball long against their press. Rashford can also shoot from outside the box. We need to buy a striker no matter what next season.
He is second in goals per minute in La Liga. He is not in his prime but he does score and run a lot. It may be as well psychological as he is being pushed away. Torres is very uneven
as a midfielder, this is the most frustrating thing a forward can do to you.

Gaps between the lines are huge.People wont mention it but Fermin doesn’t help a lot in the build-up for a number 10.

Barca is probably the only elite club that doesn’t have a top class striker, Lewa used to drop a lot in the center and help the midfielders in the first season with Xavi but after that he clearly lost his stamnia.
I love Flick but he’s had all season to try out different attacking combinations and we’ve barely seen any variation, I’d like to see something like how we ended the game with Rashford, Raphinha, Olmo and Lamine

Lewandowski was way better than Raphinha this match though.
He also gave Raphinha that magnificent through ball on the counter in the first half, became a 2v1 situation and Raphinha fumbled it.

Lewandowski’s form started to drop already in the second half of last season, despite scoring a fair amount. We all know that Ferran is not a top striker but we play so much better with him now. Osimhen or some other hard working decent striker would do wonders in this team.
Also… look where Fermin is. With Fermin in the midfield 3 it feels like we’re playing with only 2 midfielders up until their final third
Lewa went from scoring 42 last season to a complete steep off, the longevity is insane, but age has finally caught up to him… we deperately need a new striker.
And people want Lewandowski to play midfield… no wonder there’s no striker. I understand Lewy’s form isn’t amazing but I do believe it’s the team’s fault overall. It’s insanely uneven how Barca plays nearly every match. The huge drop off in his goals isn’t just cause “he’s old”… but the way Barca plays is underwhelming in transition from defense to attack. A lot of balls go nowhere, Lewandowski get doesn’t nearly any service.
What I’m saying is… the team isn’t working together well. Defense is chaos. Then people want the attack to comfortably attack when half the time they spend tracking back and playing midfield or defensive midfield. No wonder Lewandowski ain’t scoring shit.
