Kenan Gokdogan has applied for a new premises licence for a Nisa Local store which will be located at 57 High Street in Christchurch.

The application seeks permission for the off sale of alcohol between 7am and 11pm.

Initially the proposal had two objections but following mediation with Dorset Drug and Alcohol Harm Reduction team one of the representations has been withdrawn.

Conditions include reducing the sale of alcohol to between 9am and 11pm, no single cans or bottles can be sold, CCTV will be installed, incident logs will be kept, and staff will receive training on policies like ae verification.

The objector, who has remained anonymous, said in their representation: “No matter what storage measures, training, CCTV systems and Dorset Police conditions are in place, there will still be excessive drinking. Increased access and availability lead to higher consumption, which in turn increases alcohol‑related problems.”

The licensing committee will hear the application at a meeting on March 18 before making a decision in private.
