Joe also fancies Castellanos to be a threat.

The FA Cup last 16 wraps up on Monday night with a Premier League derby as Brentford head across London to take on West Ham. The clash is a break from the top-flight day job for both Nuno Espirito Santo and Keith Andrews as they tackle contrasting ends to the campaign.

The Hammers face a tight relegation battle in the season run-in, with the Bees on the brink of a first-ever European qualification under their impressive new boss. Ahead of a key cup clash at the London Stadium, PP ambassador and ex-Hammer Joe Cole gives his view, so let’s get to his West Ham v Brentford tips.

West Ham to win (90 mins) & Both Teams to Score

Brentford are having an amazing season, with a great manager doing a great job. And the tide is turning at West Ham, even though we’re not playing that well. So how do you approach this? Is it just a free shot at an enjoyable Monday night game, or do you put everything into this?

If Nuno doesn’t play his strongest side, I’ll be furious. This is an opportunity to go into the quarter finals for West Ham. I know there’s a big relegation battle and everything, but you’ve seen how important winning trophies is, and how beautiful it can be, so I really hope he plays his main teams, and I’m looking forward to this game out of all of them at the weekend.

I think it’ll be a cracking game. Brentford drew 0-0 on Tuesday. They’ve only lost once in seven games, and they’re chasing European football, but Nuno is going to play a strong side. So I’m going to go with West Ham to win 2-1.

Igor Thiago to score

Thiago is an outstanding footballer, and is probably the only one out there who could catch Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring charts. He started 2026 with a hat trick against Everton and has bagged four more times since then. With such rich form and long-term consistency during this campaign, he no doubt represents the greatest threat to West Ham going through.

Jarrod Bowen to score or assist

Bowen is still West Ham’s main guy, and although his last goal came in that loss to Chelsea at the end of January, he does have three assists in his last four appearances, so he looks likely to make some type of contribution.

Taty Castellanos 2+ shots

Although he’s still relatively new to the West Ham fold, Castellanos doesn’t lack any fighting spirit. He’s averaging 2.3 shots per Premier League game at the moment, and even scored at Anfield quite recently, so he’s going to go into this one with no fear.
