Tim Sherwood is loving watching Arsenal’s young players develop but he’s also sent a message of warning to the likes of Max Dowman and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Dowman is the talk of the town once more after another fine display for Arsenal in the FA Cup, while Lewis-Skelly remains key to Arsenal’s future.
However, with pressure now building and fans demanding to see more of them, Tim Sherwood believes the Gunners’ youngsters need to keep at their craft.

Sherwood, despite his Tottenham links, is obviously enjoying seeing Arsenal’s young players have an impact.
However, having been a manager himself, he has also suggested that Arsenal’s teenage talents keep their feet on the ground.
“I think it’s important now for him, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri when he comes back, they’ve had a taste of it so they’re going to want to be involved,” Sherwood commented on Sky Sports.
“But they are going for it on all fronts. So you’re going to need to trust the manager to give you your opportunity at the right time. I would say to all these boys, you need to continue to develop. It’s not about getting your wash bag under your arm at half eleven and going home, let the rest of the squad do that.
“You’re still young, still capable of developing. Individually they can all get better at their game and the last thing they need to do now is think they’ve cracked it.”

As Sherwood says here, Dowman and Lewis-Skelly are bound to feature for Arsenal in the coming months.
The Gunners are in the mix to win all four trophies and the pair must be ready when Mikel Arteta needs them.
Clearly, Dowman has earned the trust of his manager and while we’ve seen Lewis-Skelly’s stock drop a small amount, he remains a key squad player.
As for the aforementioned Ethan Nwaneri, all he can do is play well for Marseille. Arsenal think highly of Nwaneri and he simply needs to keep delivering.
Come next season, we might be in a position where Arsenal’s average age is lower than ever.
