The draw for the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup took place on Monday night, with Liverpool securing their place in the last eight after a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones were all on the scoresheet for the Reds at Molineux. Robertson opened the scoring early in the second half with a stunning strike before setting up Salah just two minutes later for a close-range finish.

Jones then sealed the win with a well-placed effort with just over 15 minutes remaining, while substitute Hwang Hee-chan grabbed a late consolation for the hosts in added time.

Slot said after the game: “Of course, it’s a perfect response when you look at the results, but every stat is exactly identical to three days ago. I think they were on 0.44xG and they scored tonight. Their only chance they had, they scored one. The positive thing is three days ago they only had one chance and scored twice.

“We struggled to create a lot of chances from a lot of ball possession we had in the first 50 minutes. But after scoring not a big chance – the shot from Robbo is not a big chance – things opened up a bit more for us.

“Again, we conceded in extra time, so that’s similar. There was not so much difference because in the first 50 minutes we were maybe a bit faster going from side to side, that had also to do with the personnel, with the different type of players that were in certain positions. But overall, there were a lot of similarities between this game and three days ago [and] a lot of ball possession.”

Liverpool have not progressed beyond the quarter-finals since lifting the trophy in 2022, when they defeated Chelsea on penalties at Wembley.

Since then, the Reds have twice exited in the fourth round and were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Manchester United in 2024. Liverpool will face Manchester City away from home in the quarter-finals. Elsewhere, League One side Port Vale will travel to Chelsea for their first away tie of the season in the competition.

Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Arsenal face a trip to Southampton, and the winner of tonight’s West Ham vs Brentford fixture will host Leeds in the next round. The FA Cup quarter-final ties are scheduled to take place across the weekend of April 4 and 5.
