National Highways has confirmed the road will be closed in both directions between Redbridge and Junction 3 of the M27 for resurfacing work on two nights in March.
The closures will be in place from 9pm on March 26 until 6am on March 27, and again from 9pm on March 27 until 6am on March 28.
Crews are set to carry out carriageway reconstruction and repairs.
Further disruption is expected in April when additional electrical works are carried out at the M27 and M271 junction.
Between April 13 and April 18, overnight closures will take place Monday to Friday between 9pm and 6am.
During this time, carriageway, slip road and lane closures will be in force around Junction 3.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead.
