Southampton City Council has granted permission for traffic management on the busy route from March 9 to March 13, with two-way temporary signals in operation while works take place.
The traffic control measures will allow crews to carry out work safely while keeping vehicles moving through the area. However, drivers are being advised to expect delays.

Hill Lane is a key route linking several residential areas with the city centre and nearby schools, meaning the signals could affect a large number of commuters, parents and local residents.
Motorists travelling through the area are urged to allow extra time for their journeys or consider alternative routes where possible.
Further details about the nature of the works have not been released, but the traffic management will remain in place for the duration of the five-day period.
