Andy Robertson is set to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract, but it’s become clear he still has a lot to offer at Anfield.

During the winter transfer window, Robertson was open to leaving to sign for Tottenham Hotspur.

A move did not come to pass, but it has since emerged that it’s become ‘a certainty’ he will not sign a new deal – a decision that needs to be swiftly reversed after his showing versus Wolves.

Who was YOUR Man of the Match in Liverpool’s win over Wolves? 😁

As was the case in the meeting between these two sides on Tuesday, the first 45 was drab.

However, Liverpool sprang into life in the second half, and Robertson was at the heart of their success.

He began by striking a brilliant effort from the edge of the box before producing one of his trademark crosses just minutes later to set up Mohamed Salah.

Milos Kerkez has improved in recent months, but Robertson’s ability to whip in a ball is second to none in this team.

Moreover, the 31-year-old’s long-term connection with the likes of Salah cannot be underestimated. Turning 32 next month, the full-back will not be hanging up his boots, and there is talk of a Celtic switch.

But Robertson’s experience, crossing ability and leadership are all reasons that FSG need to try everything they can to convince him to stay.

It is also worth noting that 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha is now playing on the left wing more, and having a senior figure like Robertson behind him would no doubt aid his development.

Their connection against Wolves was excellent, and it’d be great to see more of that in the future.
