Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Rob Edwards has called Arne Slot ‘amazing’ amid facing the Liverpool coach twice in the space of one week.
Wolves beat the Reds 2-1 in a Premier League meeting on Tuesday evening despite sitting bottom of the division and looking set for relegation this term.
The pair are once again going head-to-head in the FA Cup fifth round on Friday, and Edwards has praised both Slot and the Liverpool squad ahead of the tie.
If Gakpo and Salah aren’t to blame for their poor form, then who is? 🤔
Slot was quick to move any blame away from Gakpo after being asked about one goal in nine games…

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “We know how good Liverpool are. I always try to be very respectful of the opposition, but especially this opposition.
“They’ve got an amazing manager who’s won things, and then obviously players that are all used to winning the biggest of titles.
“But we have to go into the game believing and I want the fans to as well.”
Given how inconsistent Liverpool have been this season, another shock defeat to Wolves on March 6 probably wouldn’t be all that surprising.
Is winning the FA Cup enough to keep Arne Slot in a job beyond 2025/26? If not, why? 🤔

The Reds had lost just one of their previous 16 meetings with the Midlands outfit in all competitions prior to this week.
But Chris Sutton still thinks that Edwards and his players could get the job done again in the cup.
He predicted a 2-1 win for the second match in a row and said: “With the heat that is around him, I don’t think Slot is in a position where he can afford to play a weakened side here – he has to go strong to try to avoid another shock result.
“I still think we will see another surprise, though. Wolves are going to throw everything at Liverpool. They are still going down, but can they make it to Wembley too?”
