An official Newcastle United injury update ahead of the Manchester City match.

Eddie Howe hoping to follow up their brilliant win against Manchester United in midweek.

A welcome boost in the Premier League.

Whilst of course United having progressed to the Champions League last 16 and also in the last 16 of the FA Cup.

A victory on Saturday night over Manchester City would take Newcastle United to the last eight and then just one more win needed for a return to Wembley, an FA Cup semi-final.

Eddie Howe giving this Newcastle United injury update ahead of Saturday.

Official Newcastle United injury update from Eddie Howe:

Nick Woltemade

Eddie Howe saying this morning that Big Nick should be fine for this Man City match, after recovering from illness.

The Head Coach stating: “Nick Woltemade should be okay, he trained yesterday (Thursday) individually and felt okay.” I take it the players involved in the win over Man U had the day off for rest and recovery.

Tino Livramento

Eddie Howe saying today that: “Tino [Livramento] is getting there, let’s wait and see. He hasn’t trained with us yet, but he has done a lot of work. He has a lot of work behind him, but it is just that training time with us.”

So sounds like Saturday will come too soon but maybe Barcelona on Tuesday a possibility? Failing that, Chelsea away in eight days time.

Lewis Miley

Eddie Howe revealing this Friday morning: “Lewis will not make the next couple of games.” So maybe Chelsea away we will hopefully see him available.

So it looks like still at least six players players missing. Eddie Howe still set to be without Tino Livramento, Lewis Miley, Bruno Guimaraes, Emil Krafth and Fabian Schar through injury, plus Jacob Ramsey who picked up that ludicrous red card against Man U.
